What is the Minimum Coverage Required in New York State?
New York legislature requires all drivers to carry at the very least the basic auto insurance package consisting of bodily injury liability and property damage liability in order to operate a motor vehicle. In addition, every insured must have the minimum coverage as defined by law, they are as follows:
- Bodily injury per person is $25,000
- Bodily injury per accident is $50,000
- Property damage liability is $10,000
